Porsche 911 GT3 vs. GT3 RS: Which Should You Rent in Miami?

GT3 or GT3 RS? Here's how Porsche's naturally aspirated flat-six splits across two very different track-focused 911s in the Miami fleet.

The short answer

GT3 if you want the purest, most usable version of Porsche’s naturally aspirated flat-six — a car you could genuinely drive every day of the rental without a second thought. GT3 RS if downforce and track-bred aggression matter more than everyday comfort. Both share the same basic engine philosophy; the RS just turns every dial further.

What separates them

The GT3 keeps a smaller wing and a more restrained aero package — Porsche still lets you spec it with a manual gearbox, though the fleet car runs the PDK dual-clutch. The GT3 RS goes further in every direction: a swan-neck rear wing, front-fender louvers, and aerodynamics borrowed almost directly from the GT3 Cup race car. The RS is tuned so heavily for downforce that its top speed is actually lower than the standard GT3’s — a trade the RS makes on purpose.

What’s in the fleet

The GT3 (992-generation) runs $1,199/day in blue. The GT3 RS comes in three ways: the previous 991-generation car at $1,299/day in either red or GT Silver Metallic, and the current 992-generation RS at $2,399/day in white — the most extreme version Porsche builds, and one of the standout cars in the entire fleet.

Which one for which occasion

The GT3 makes sense if the day includes actual driving — a coastal route, a reason to use the manual-feeling PDK paddles, a car you’re not worried about being too much. The GT3 RS makes more sense if the point is arriving in the most aggressive-looking 911 available — the widebody fenders and exposed carbon aero on the 992 RS draw a crowd parked, not just moving.

Booking either one

All four cars are available for delivery across the core service area with the same mileage and deposit terms as the rest of the fleet. If you’re deciding between generations or colors, the concierge line can talk through which one actually fits the day.

FAQ

Is the GT3 RS faster than the GT3?

In a straight line, no — the RS is actually capped at a lower top speed on purpose, since its aero package trades top end for downforce. Around a track, the RS is faster.

Which color GT3 RS options are available?

The 991-generation RS comes in red or GT Silver Metallic; the current 992-generation RS is white.
