McLaren vs. Porsche: Which Should You Rent in Miami?

McLaren's 720S Coupe or Porsche's 911 GT3 RS — two very different ideas of what a Miami supercar rental should feel like.

The short answer

McLaren if you want a mid-engine supercar built almost entirely around straight-line drama and a carbon tub. Porsche if you want a car that rewards precision as much as speed — something you could genuinely push on a real road, not just a straight line. Neither is the “better” choice — they’re built around different ideas of what a good drive feels like.

Two very different personalities

A 720S is theater. A twin-turbo V8 making 710 hp, dihedral doors, and a carbon-fiber monocoque tub underneath — it’s a car built to embarrass supercars costing twice as much, and it looks the part doing it.

A 911 GT3 RS is quieter about the theater and louder about the engineering. The naturally aspirated flat-six revs to 9,000 RPM with no turbos and no hybrid assist, and the whole car — wing, diffuser, front-fender louvers — is tuned around downforce rather than outright top speed. It rewards the person driving it more than the people watching it.

What’s actually in the fleet

On the McLaren side: the 720S Coupe at $1,499/day in red, fixed-roof, no substitute for the theater it delivers.

On the Porsche side: the 911 GT3 RS across two generations — the previous 991-generation car at $1,299/day in red or silver, and the current 992-generation RS at $2,399/day in white, the most extreme road-legal 911 Porsche builds.

Price isn’t really the deciding factor

The 720S and the 991-generation GT3 RS sit close enough in price that cost rarely settles it. The real question is what you want the day to feel like — outright drama, or precision that rewards someone who actually knows what they’re doing behind the wheel.

Which one for which occasion

McLaren fits if

  • You want the car to be part of the celebration, not just transportation
  • Being seen matters as much as the drive itself
  • You want the most dramatic-looking car in the valet line, full stop

Porsche fits if

  • You want the driving experience to be the reward, not the reaction
  • The occasion calls for engineering credibility over volume
  • You’d rather the car speak for itself in a quieter room

Bachelor party, a birthday that’s supposed to be loud, anything where the car is part of the celebration itself — that’s 720S territory. A dinner with someone you’re trying to impress with taste rather than volume, a track day, a drive up A1A where the corners matter more than the straightaways — that’s where the GT3 RS makes more sense.

Booking either one

Both are available for delivery across Miami Beach, Brickell, South Beach, and Fort Lauderdale, with the same free delivery and mileage terms as the rest of the fleet. If you’re torn between the two, the concierge line can talk through which one actually fits the day you’re planning — not just the one with the louder exhaust.

FAQ

Which is faster, the 720S or the GT3 RS?

The 720S has the edge in a straight line with 710 hp; the GT3 RS is tuned more for cornering and track precision than outright speed.

Are both available as convertibles?

No — the 720S in this fleet is the fixed-roof Coupe, and the GT3 RS is a fixed-roof car by design.
